Spork! is an Exeter based organisation run by me and my brilliant co-Producer Charice Bhardwaj.

It started in 2018 as a monthly open-mic at The Little Drop of Poison. Since then we’ve received local and national funding and worked with different organisations and producers including Apples and Snakes and Mothers Who Make to create live events and workshops.

Our goal is to bring more spoken-word to Exeter and to get people engaged in poetry in a way that’s accessible, empowering and fun

In the last 2 years we've hosted workshops for mothers, programmed an LGBTQ+ show with Come As You Are Festival and featured poets, rappers, musicians, DJs, drag queens and comedians

Past headliners have included Vanessa Kissule, Dan Simpson, Julie Mullen, Johnny Fluffypunk, Safiya K, Jack Dean, Rebecca Tantony, Muneera Pilgrim, T.S Idiot, Daniel Piper, Imogen Downes, Tom Sastry, Samantics, Roisin Crowley Linton, Kimwei McCarthy, Rhys Slade-Jones, Saili Katabe, Liv Torc & Tim King.

During lock-down and in the wake of COVID-19, we've kept busy by hosting an online Spork! zoom, creating a community poem for Exeter Phoenix's Bloom Weekend, co-producing writing workshops for mothers with Mothers Who Make and putting together 2 podcasts, featuring Carmina Masoliver, Laurie Eaves, Malaika Kegode and Erin Bolens
